It happened by accident.

It was 10th grade and I needed an elective. I signed up for what I thought was going to be a class on using MS word, excel, and such.

But it turns out Mr. Kennedy wasn’t interested in teaching that at all.

It was a programming 101 course. And you can tell the school didn’t know what to name it because I wasn’t the only one in there by mistake.

After we got rolling, one of our projects was to make a driver’s license clone in vb.net and add some interactivity to it.

I remember sitting in the living room trying to figure out how in the world to do this!?

And then came having my mind shifted when reading about what can be done via a programming language.

Wait. Like…”So, I can tell this thing what to do?”

I don’t remember the specifics of how the class ended but my future direction was changed forever.

This went from a cool toy to something so much more limitless.

It would be a while until I would posses the skills to really be able to turn technology into value, into something kinetic. Something useful.

And today is not so different. Despite a dozen plus years building technology, I’m still a kid in many way looking around to see how to use all this stuff to do something valuable.

I’m thankful for that accidental class choice.

But what lies ahead will require more intentionality.

✌️I’m open to work.

And ready for the next role not to be an accident.

My backpack is packed with a range of skills and I’m ready to get to it
